What is 30/7 as a whole number

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: It can only be written as a mixed number (4 and 2/7) or a decimal (4.2857. . .), not a whole number.
Answer 2
Answer:

Final answer:

The fraction 30/7 approximates to 4.28, which isn't a whole number. However, rounding down to the nearest whole gives us 4. Hence, 30/7 as a whole number is 4.

Explanation:

The question is asking to express the fraction 30/7 as a whole number. To accomplish this, you would divide the numerator (30) by the denominator (7). The result of that operation is approximately 4.28, which isn't a whole number. But if we need to present it as a whole number, we round down to the nearest whole number. So, 30/7 as a whole number is 4. Just remember that 30 is not perfectly divisible by 7, therefore rounding is required for a whole number representation.

A rectangle has an area of x square units. The rectangle is dilated to create a new rectangle with an area of 9x square units. Describe the change in the dimensions of the rectangle.-What is the scale factor used in the dilation?

-If the demsions of the original rectangle are 5 inches by 8 inches, what will be the dimensions of the new rectangle? Show your work.

Answers

The reactangle has an area of x.

So that means two numbers multiplied to each other equal to x. We can just think of itwo numbers that when multiplied equal to x as a and b.

So that means the side lengths are a and b. And ab = x (will be using this right next).

And it was multiplied by some scale factor that made the new area 9x. So if the scale factor is y, then:

(y* a)* (y* b)=9x
y^2ab=9x
y^2x=9x
y=3

y can not equal to -3, because the length of a side of any polygon can never be negative.

So the dilation is 3.

And so if the dimension is 5 by 8.

Then the area is 5 * 8=40

And so then x=40

And then after the dilation, it would be 9x=9(40) = 360

We could check it another way too. Since we said the scale factor is 3, then:

( 5 * 3) * (8 * 3) = 15 * 24 = 360

So basically 15 by 24 is the new dimensions :)

Nick's bank account balance was $21. if he writes a check for $30 and his bank charges him $35 for overdrawing his account, find his account balance

Answers

The balance of Nick's bankaccount is $86.

Concept:

  • As we have the bank balance after deducting the check amount and bank charges, we will add those amounts to the balance to get the initial bank balance.

How to solve this question?

  • Amount of Check = $30
  • Amount of Bank Charges = $35
  • Amount after deduction of Check and bank charges =$21
  • ∴ Initial bank balance = 21 + 30 + 35 = $86

Thus ,the balance of Nick's bank account is $86.

The graph is translated 3 to the left and 2 up. When adding a number to x inside the parentheses the graph is moved to the left. When adding to x outside the parentheses the graph will move up. The graph is also strerched by 1/2.

My math teacher is giving me a question about the mean absolute deviation. I don't really get it. Some help please.

Answers

well, you didn't show the question but i can tell you this: first find the mean of the data set.
1) 1+2+3+4=10    10/4(amount of #)=2.5
then, subtract the mean from each number in the data set.
2) 1-2.5= -1.5; 2-2.5= -0.5; 3-2.5= 0.5; 4-2.5= 1.5
convert all these numbers to positive, then add them together.
3)1.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 +1.5 = 4
divide the total by the amount of # in the data set
4/4=1
the MAD in this case is 1.

Hope i helped!! :)
