Mr. Garcia uses magnets to hold a poster on a steel filing cabinet because a main component of steel is _____.The answer should be one word. I was thinking either "magnetic" or "metal" but I'm not sure...

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: The main component of steel is iron ... the mother of all magnetic material.
Answer 2
Answer:

Answer:

Iron

Explanation:

Steel is the purest form of iron with a little amount of carbon mixed in it. As we all know that iron is attracted towards magnet therefore we can say that steel can also be attracted towards magnet.

What is the acceleration of a ball traveling horizontally with an initial velocity of 20 meters/second and, 2.0 seconds later, a velocity of 30 meters/second?

Answers

The acceleration of the ball is 5 m/s^2. This can be calculated using a formula that relates the change in velocity, acceleration, and time. This formula is:

Vf = Vi + at

where:
Vf = final velocity
Vi = initial velocity
a = acceleration
t = time

Substituting the values gives:

30 = 20 + a(2)
a = 5 m/s^2 --> Final Answer

Answer:

5.0 meters/second^2

Use Newton’s First Law of Motion and the concept of inertia to explain what happens to a person in a head-on car accident who is not wearing a seat belt. How does wearing a seat belt help?

Answers

According to Newtons first law of motion, a passenger tends to continue in the state of uniform motion even after the accident which causes the passenger to move forward.

According to the Newtons first law of motion, an object will continue in a state of rest or uniform motion unless it is acted upon by an external force. This is also known as the law of inertia.

While in a car undergoing uniform motion and suddenly the car is involved in an accident which causes the vehicle stop abruptly, a person suddenly moves forward because of the tendency to continue in the former state of uniform motion according to Newtons first law.

A seat belt helps to prevent the person from suddenly moving forward in a way that may lead to injury as a result of the accident.

Answer:

Newtons first law of motion explains what happens in a car crash because it basically states that the passenger will continue to travel at the same velocity until an unbalanced force acts on he or she. The force that will act upon he or she would be the window, so you should always wear a seat belt!

A _______ is a repeating disturbance or vibration that transfers or moves energy from place to place without transporting mass.force
wave
vacuum
medium
PLZ help me!

Answers

Answer: wave

Explanation:

These are the basic definitions and characteristic of the terms given, which show tha the only rigth answer is the second option: wave.

1) Force is an interaction. There are four natural forces: electrostatic, gravity, strong nuclear force and weak nuclear force.

2) Wave: is a sequence of pulses or vibrations that cause the continuous transportation of energy (propagation). There is not transport of mass, only energy.

Some examples of waves are sound waves, electromagnetic waves (light, radio waves, micro waves, infrarred waves, ultraviolet waves).

3) Vacuum: is the absence of matter; empty space. Only electromagnetic waves can travel through vacuum; other waves need a medium to travel.

4) Medium: any matter is a medium: a solid, the air, a liquid, all of them are media through which waves can transport its energy, depending of the wavelength.

A wave, waves transport energy rather than matter from one area to another.
An example of this is conduction of thermal energy, for instance when you heat up a saucepan the metal areas of the pan not touching the heat source still heat up due to waves of thermal energy (conduction)

Fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine are part of a family called a. noble gases. b. metalloids. c. halogens. d. alkali metals.

Answers

Answer: Option (c) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

The elements Fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine all belong to group 7. All of these are electron deficient and all of them are non-metals.

Also, it is known that elements of group 7 are also known as halogens because the word halogen means 'salt former' and compounds which contain halogens are known as salt.

Thus, we can conclude that Fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine are part of a family called halogens.

c. halogens
they are under group 7

Melting, freezing, and boiling are _____________ changes. Question 3 options: A. compound B. molecular
C. isotope
D. physical
E. chemical

Answers

To solve the problem we must know about Melting, freezing, and boiling.

What is Melting?

Melting is the process by which a solid is converted to liquid.

What is Freezing?

Freezing is the process by which a liquid is converted to solid.

What is boiling?

Boiling is the vaporization of a liquid when it reaches its boiling temperature.

Now, as we know when there is a change in the phase of a substance, only the physical changes occur in that substance. For example, water when frozen, forms ice although there is a phase change the properties of the water are still the same, still, it will conduct electricity, etc.

Hence, Melting, freezing, and boiling are physical(phase) changes.

Melting, freezing, and boiling are PHYSICAL changes. Reason why, you can SEE their PHYSICAL appearance change. Melting, you can see a solid (ice) melt, and turn into a liquid (that's a physical change). Freezing, is when a liquid (possibly water) becomes a solid. It's features change, thus it's a physical change. Boiling, when something is boiled you can see it physically BUBBLE. It heats up, and you can see steam escape from it. This is a physical change, but when you turn it off, the water goes back to normal. But not exactly. When you boil water, you're cleaning and purifying the water. So it become purified drinking water. Also just a tip, when boiling water, make sure the temperature is above 185° F (85° C) so it'll be able to kill all bacteria.
