Answer:  “Nationalities which are now under Turkish rule should be assured an …opportunity of an autonomous development…”

The Fourteen Points (January 8, 1918) was a statement by President Woodrow Wilson, which was to be used for peace negotiations in order to end World War I.

In these lines, the president discusses the importance of giving nations the opportunity to govern themselves. He argues that the countries that were under Turkish rule (as part of the Ottoman Empire) deserved the opportunity to create an autonomous government and direct their own development.

Should the United States have signed the treaty and thus joined the League of Nations? Explain

Answers

The United States should absolutely join sign the Treaty of Versailles and join the League of Nations. The United States fought in World War 1 and many Americans lost their lives defeating the Germans and their allies. World War 1 had a terrible impact not only on Europeans, but also Americans. It is only right that America should do everything it can to help prevent another major war.
Europeans have been fighting among themselves for hundreds of years and it’s time for that fighting to end. With the League of Nations, Woodrow Wilson will help ensure that the world will live in peace. If all the nations of the world work together, then they will have no reason to fight again.
The League of Nations and the Treaty of Versailles will put an end to this ugly and terrible war. We will finally put an end to the empires that have controlled the people of Europe and let all of the individual European people build their own future, instead of having people build it for them. The Polish, the Slovaks, the Czechs, the Austrians, the Hungarians, the Slovenians, and many other nationalities deserve to be able to determine their own future. Currently, they are all being controlled by the Austro-Hungarian empire. The Treaty of Versailles will break up that empire and give those people a proper place in the world.
The United States must sign the Treaty of Versailles. Part of the Treaty of Versailles requires that all countries that sign it MUST join the League of Nations. It is important that we sign the treaty and join the League and not separate the two. If we separate the treaty from the League of Nations, then there is no way that we can promise peace in the future, and that is the most important thing to do

Please help me....what divisions within the country were revealed during the 1960 presidential election

The United States presidential election of 1924 was the 35th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 4, 1924. Incumbent President Calvin Coolidge, the Republicancandidate, was elected to a full term.

Coolidge had been vice-president under Warren G. Harding and became president in 1923 when Harding died during his term in office. Coolidge was given credit for a booming economy at home and no visible crises abroad. His candidacy was aided by a split within the Democratic Party. The regular Democratic candidate was John W. Davis, a little-known former congressman and diplomatfrom West Virginia. Since Davis was a conservative, many liberal Democrats bolted the party and backed the third-party campaign of Senator Robert M. La Follette of Wisconsin, who ran as the candidate of the Progressive Party.

Garland S. Tucker, in a 2010 book, argues that the election marked the "high tide of American conservatism," as both major candidates campaigned for limited government, reduced taxes, and less regulation.[1] The third place candidate, Robert La Follette, however, campaigned on a contrary platform.
