8. Which two types of biomolecules are directly affected by a mutation?A. nucleic acids and lipids
B. nucleic acids and carbohydrates
C. proteins and nucleic acids
D. proteins and carbohydrates

Answers

The nucleic acids and proteins.

Explanation:

Mutations happen in the DNA which is a nucleic acid, and this molecule is transcribed into m-RNA which will be based on the sequence of the nucleotides in the DNA, so also m-RNA is affected and it is also a nucleotide.

Proteins are made using information coming from the DNA via the m-RNA, and since both are changed, then the structure of the protein will be built based on this new sequence of the bases in the m-RNA.

Antibiotic resistance in bacteria is the result of A) binary fission.
B) nitrogen fixation
C) genetic variation.
D) genetic engineering.

Answers

Antibiotic resistance in bacteria is the result of genetic variation.

What is Genetic variation?

DNA sequence variations among members of a population are referred to as genetic variation. Sperm and egg cells, as well as somatic (all other) cells, are subject to variation.

Only variation that develops in germ cells can be passed from person to person and hence influence population dynamics and, in turn, evolution.

Genetic variety first appeared as a result of mutations. A mutation is a type of DNA sequence change that is permanent. When a mistake in DNA replication occurs and is not fixed by DNA repair enzymes, de novo (new) mutations take place.

Therefore, Antibiotic resistance in bacteria is the result of genetic variation.

Graduating from high school this year makes me feel a bit sad. Biology was such a fun but crazy class.

Enough of my sentiments; I'm here to help, :-).

This answer is dependent upon what ecosystem you choose your project over.

So, abiotic factors are nonliving things in an ecosystem. Biotic factors are living organisms and anything alive.

For instance, if you choose a pond for your ecosystem then the water, soil, maybe trash would be abiotic factors. Some could argue there is living material within the water and soil but those abiotic factors are not alive. I mean water is not alive but it could be a home to biotic factors like microorganisms such as protozoans and worms. The grass and trees and animals around a pond would be biotic factors.

Hope you get the idea. if there's any questions then leave a comment and I'll help. Good luck!
my answer is the same as her (SORRY) ( I need some points to ask my question)

5.08 Biotechnology and GeneticsPlease write a letter to a friend. In this letter, you will describe artificial selection, genetic engineering, and cloning. You will tell the friend why you either support the use of the process or believe that the process should not be used based on 3 facts you learned from the lesson.
Directions Summary
• Cloning- describe, list 3 facts, and tell your opinion.
• Artificial Selection- describe, list 3 facts, and tell your opinion.
• Genetic Engineering- describe, list 3 facts, and tell your opinion.

Question 2How might a deletion mutation in a gene affect the translation of that gene?

The mutation would not allow DNA to exit the cytoplasm.

The mutation would prevent amino acids from being brought to the ribosome during translation.

The amino acids would not be the right shape. They would not be able to assemble to form proteins.

The mutation would cause a different sequence of amino acids to be brought to the ribosome during translation.
