Which common motif from mythology is most clearly shown in the story?
A. The dangers of arrogance
B. Physical transformation
C. Explanations of nature
D. The hero's journey

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

A. The dangers of arrogance

Explanation:

Their arrogance is what led Oedipus to kill the stranger/ his father, so it makes sense that this would be the answer. Words such as "insolent" also support this conclusion because insolent means "showing a rude and arrogant lack of respect."

But just to confirm let's use process of elimination and take a look at the other ones

B. Physical transformation -- no one and no thing is changing their physical form

C. Explanations of nature -- there is no theme of natural events or any sort of interaction with nature

D. The hero's journey -- one could argue that this could be a step of the hero's journey but not to describe this one event

Read this excerpt from an argumentative essay. One explanation for why the national parks are so important is that they provide many Americans with the opportunity to experience wildlife in its natural habitat. Every major city in the United States has a zoo, which is great, but how much more significant is the sight of a brown bear in its natural setting rather than in a cage? A trip to a park like Yellowstone National Park may be the only chance a youngster from a place like New York City or Chicago will have to behold such a sight. If we, the American people, were to lose places like Yellowstone, it would be a travesty.Where in an argumentative essay does this excerpt belong?in the openingin the body, as a reasonin the body, addressing a counterclaimin the closing

“Broken Chain”Alfonso sat on the porch trying to push his crooked teeth to where he thought they belonged. He hated the way he looked. Last week he did fifty sit-ups a day, thinking that he would burn those already apparent ripples on his stomach to even deeper ripples, dark ones, so when he went swimming at the canal next summer, girls in cut-offs would notice. And the guys would think he was tough, someone who could take a punch and give it back.

When I found out that my parents had invited the minister’s family over for Christmas Eve dinner, I cried. What would Robert think of our shabby Chinese Christmas? What would he think of our noisy Chinese relatives who lacked proper American manners? What terrible disappointment would he feel upon seeing not a roasted turkey and sweet potatoes but Chinese food?

How do both the essay and short story convey the theme that people often care about what others think of them?

Alfonso doesn’t like the way he looks, and Amy is embarrassed by her family’s traditions.
Alfonso wants others to notice him, and Amy is worried about what Robert will think.
Alfonso isn’t confident in himself, and Amy constantly questions her family’s ways.
Alfonso must worry about what he looks like during the summer, and Amy has to deal with the holidays.

Answers

The answer is the second one. in Alfonso’s story he wants pretty girls and the cool guys to notice him. While in Amy’s case, she thinks her family traditions aren’t good enough for Robert.

Please help, i will mark your answer as brainlyiest if you do good TwT The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allen Poe Claim: The storyteller believes that he is not crazy although he is. From the beginning, the narrator was attempting to convince the reader that he was not crazy although he was bothered over his neighbor's eye. The pace of the story-line began from the narrator admitting how he had a bad feeling whenever the old man's vulture eye looked at the narrator but didn't think that the narrator was crazy over it. Soon enough throughout the story the narrator was driven crazy over the vulture looking eye from the old man and decided to kill the old man. Although from the reader's perspective it seems to look like the narrator was crazy, the narrator did not think so. The narrator had planned very meticulously over the thought of killing to the old man and acted out on it. Once the deed was done, the police came by to check because a neighbor reported suspicious activity by the old man's home. The narrator let the police in the house search it and the narrator had explained how the old man was gone to visit a friend out in the country and the police believed him. But the narrator's guilt got to him and put him on edge. He behaved more and more suspicious and finally let a cry out of admitting to killing the man because the narrator thought the policemen were on to him. The way that the mood affected me was that the narrator had begun to admit that he was a normal person, perfectly fine. But once the narrator put out the exposition it started to give out the expression that he was crazy and him denying that he wasn't crazy made the narrator even more suspicious. To conclude my claim, I see that narrator is genuinely crazy and that even though he convinced his own self and attempted to prove the reader he wasn't crazy, in the end, he was.
