How did Marie Curie’s research in radioactivity benefit others while harming her

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:  The discoveries Mme Curie made were of great benefit to physics, chemistry and medicine. During the time she was doing her research, the health effects of ionizing radiation were not known. The amount of radiation that she was exposed to led to her death. Even today her notebooks and other personal effects are highly contaminated with radioactive material.

A mass of 1.0 kg is initially held in place on a ramp of angle 45o at height of 20. meters above the ground. The mass is released and slides to the bottom of the ramp (h=0). There is friction between the mass and the ramp. At the bottom of the ramp, the object has a speed of 10. m/s. The thermal energy was generated by the friction as the mass slides down the ramp is closest to which value?

Explain why ventilation is very important if there is a risk of exposure to radon gas in your home or school

Answers

Ventilation is very important if there is a risk of exposure to radon gas in your home or school because ventilation will help you not to inhale all of the radon particles in your body. Radon gas is dangerous because it does not smell and you cannot see it with your own eyes. Also, it is very toxic and radioactive.

Brianna fires a gun horizontally from a height of 500 m and with a muzzle velocity of 240 m/s. How fast does it travel horizontally after one second?

Answers

In this kind of projectile problem, we always ignore air resistance.  (At least
through high school Physics.)  If we tried to include air resistance, that would
make the problem hopelessly complicated, when all we're really trying to do is
work with the effects of gravity ... separating out what gravity does and what it doesn't do.

Ignoring the effects of air resistance, there is no horizontal force acting on
the bullet after it leaves the gun, so its horizontal acceleration is zero, and
its horizontal velocity doesn't change.  If it left the muzzle with a horizontal
velocity of 240m/s, then its horizontal velocity is that same number, from
then until it hits something.

(By the way . . . your question says that Brianna fires a gun horizontally, and
then it asks how fast does it travel after one second.  I took the liberty of
addressing the horizontal velocity of the bullet instead of the gun.)

Which statement comparing examples of renewable and nonrenewable resources is true? A. Wind is a renewable resource because it can't be used up, but coal is a nonrenewable resource because it will eventually run out.

B. Wind is a nonrenewable resource because it can't be used up, but coal is a renewable resource because it will eventually run out.

C. Both wind and coal are renewable resources because they will never run out.

D. Both wind and coal are nonrenewable resources because they will eventually run out.

Answers

i believe the answer is A
A.Wind is a renewable resource because it can't be used up, but coal is a nonrenewable resource because it will eventually run out.  People use prepellers to renew wind. also, wind can never " go away,or run out ."
