A group of Physicians must build an addition to their existing private clinic. They are considering three different sized additions; a small addition, a medium addition and a large addition. If the medical demand is high (there is a favorable market for the addition) they would realize a net profit of $100,000 with a large addition, a net profit of $40,000 with a medium addition and a net profit of $10,000 with a small addition. If the medical demand is low (there is an unfavorable market for the addition) they would realize a net loss of $40,000 with the large addition, a net loss of $10,000 with the medium addition and a net profit of $5,000 with the small addition. The Physicians were also able to assign the following utility preference values to each of the potential payoffs they could encounter. Utility of $100,000 is 1.0, U ($40,000) is 0.9, U ($10,000) is 0.6, U ($5,000) is 0.5, U ($-10,000) is 0.4, and U ($-40,000) is 0.0. The physicians also have a reliable forecast indicating a 40% probability of the high medical demand. Using expected monetary value theory, what should they do and what is the expected value of that decision? Using expected utility theory, what should they do and what is the expected utility of that decision?

Answer 1
Answer:

Therefore , the solution of the given problem of probability comes out to be the medium addition because it has the greatest expected utility (0.72).

What is probability, exactly?

The primary goal of the structures within a methodology expression known as criteria is to provide an indication of the probability that the assertion is true or that a specific event will occur. Any number between zero and one, at which 0 is frequently indicated as a possibility and 1 has frequently used to denote a level of confidence, can be used to represent chance. The chance that a specific event will occur is displayed in a probability diagram.

Here,

The following formula can be used to determine each option's anticipated financial value:

=> EMV of big addition =  (0.4 * $100,000) plus (0.6 * -$40,000) for a total of $16,000.

=>  EMV of the middle addition is

= (0.4 * $40,000) plus (0.6 * -$10,000) for a total of $14,000.

=>  EMV of a minor addition =  (0.4 * 10,000) plus (0.6 * 5,000), which equals $6,000

The large addition should be chosen by the physicians as it has the greatest expected financial value of $16,000.

dividing each outcome's usefulness value by its likelihood, then adding the results:

=> (0.4 * 1.0) + (0.6 * 0.0) = 0.4 is the EU of the big addition.

=> (0.4 * 0.9) + (0.6 * 0.6) = 0.72 is the EU of medium addition.

Smaller EU =  (0.4 * 0.5) +  (0.6 * 0.6) = 0.58

The doctors should choose the medium addition because it has the greatest expected utility (0.72), according to expected utility theory.

How do i find the slope of a line that passes through a given point and is parallel or perpendicular to another given point?

Answers

There's no such thing as parallel or perpendicular "to a point".  A problem like that
will always want the new line to be parallel or perpendicular to another line.

-- If the new line is parallel to the given line, then they have the same slope.

-- If the new line is perpendicular to the the given line, then the slope of the
new line is [ 1 / slope of the given line ].

In either case, you now have the slope of the new line and a point on it.
From there, you should have no trouble finding its equation.

Parallel is same slope.
Perpendicular is same slope but you have make it opposite and flip it.
For example if your slope is 2/3. For Perpendicular it would be - 3/2.

A music festival charges $54 and 95 per ticket sold on the day of the event. A ticket purchased before the festival cost only $39.95. There were only 20,000 tickets sold for a total of $925,000 how many tickets did they sell at the music festival? How many tickets did they sell before the music festival?

Answers

b=number of ticets sold before
a=number of tickets sold after

cost of a ticket=number of tickets times cost per ticket
beforecost=39.95b
aftercost=54.95a

total cost=925000
39.95b+54.95a=925000

total number tickets=20000
b+a=20000

we have

39.95b+54.95a=925000
b+a=20000
multiply second equation by -39.95 and add to first equatin
39.95b+54.95a=925000
-39.95b-39.95a=-799000 +
0b+15a=126000

15a=126000
divide bot sides by 15
a=8400

sub back
b+a=20000
b+8400=20000
minus 8400 both sides
b=11600

11,600 tickets sold before
8400 tickets sold after

What is the perimeter of rectangle ABCD on the coordinate plane? coordinate grid

Answers

Drat it all I am so bad at reading.  Sorry about that it is my fault :O
well the formula for a perimeter of a triangle is 2(lxw) so the length here is 10 i think (just count the cubes on the bottom) then with that number you multiply that by the width (side) then multiply by 2. i counted ten on the length and 5 on the width (im not sure if thats how any because its hard to cound on a tiny grid on a computer hehe), so i multiplied 10 x 5 and got 50, then multiply by 2, i got 100. im not sure, but ill double check :)

What is the value of the binary number 101 in base 10?

Answers

The binary number 101 needs to be converted to base 10.
Label the binary number starting from the digit on the left with 0, 1, 2.
Then multiply each digit by 2(binary) raised to the power of the label it carries and then add all together to get the value in base 10
101=(1x2²)+(0x2¹)+(1x2⁰)
     =4+0+1
     =5
The answer is 5

Find x in picture below.

c.12

Answers

Answer:

C.12

Step-by-step explanation:

Apply the formula for tangent-secant

Let the cord length inside the circle to be y

According to the tangent-secant relation

(3+y)/6 = 6/3

cross multiply

3(3+y)=6*6

9+3y=36

3y=36-9

3y=27

y=27/3

y=9

Distance x = y+3

x=9+3=12
