How to explain why a trapezoid is a quadrilateral but a quadrilateral is not always a trapezoid

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:
A quadrilateral is any figure with 4 sides, no matter what the lengths of
the sides or the sizes of the angles are ... just as long as it has four straight
sides that meet and close it up.

Once you start imposing some special requirements on the lengths of
the sides,  or their relationship to each other, or the size of the angles,
you start making special kinds of quadrilaterals, that have special names.

The simplest requirement of all is that there must be one pair of sides that
are parallel to each other.  That makes a quadrilateral called a 'trapezoid'.
That's why a quadrilateral is not always a trapezoid.

Here are some other, more strict requirements, that make other special
quadrilaterals:

-- Two pairs of parallel sides . . . . 'parallelogram'

-- Two pairs of parallel sides
AND all angles the same size . . . . 'rectangle'
(also a special kind of parallelogram)

-- Two pairs of parallel sides
AND all sides the same length . . . 'rhombus'
(also a special kind of parallelogram)

-- Two pairs of parallel sides
AND all sides the same length
AND all angles the same size . . . . 'square'.
(also a special kind of parallelogram, rectangle, and rhombus)

PLEASE HELP ME! In the figure shown, the measure of angle 6 is 141º. What is the measure of angle 5?

Answers

So lets look at the information we have:-

angle 6 = 141°
angle 5 = ?

Angle 5 and angle 6 TOGETHER form a supplementary angle. A supplementary angle is equal to 180°. So, to find out angle 5 we will subtract 180° by angle 6 (141°). And then we will check our work. Lets do it:-

180° - 141° = 39°
Angle 5 = 39°

CHECK OUR WORK:-

39° + 141° = 180°
We were RIGHT!!!

So, angle 5 measures 39°.

Hope i helped ya!!

Answer:

39 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

180 = straight line so 180-141=39

Which brand is the cheapest? What is the cost of one napkin of this brand?

Which brand is the most expensive? What is the cost of one napkin of this brand?

Answers

The best way, in my opinion, to do this, is to find the unit rate of each napkin brand, or the cost per napkin. To do this, divide the money amount by the amount of napkin they give you.

     /Brand W:2.87/500=.00574  \
     \Brand X: 1.27/200=.00635   \     These are the
     /Brand Y: .62/100  =.0062     /     cost per napkin.
    \Brand Z:  1.37/250=.00548  /

Which one out of these 4 values is the lowest value? Obviously the two with the 6 in the thousandths place are more expensive than the ones with the 5s in the thousandths place, so that already eliminates Brand Z and Brand W.

What do we have left?

Brand X: 1.27/200=.00635
Brand Y: .62/100  =.0062
Cool. Which of these is a smaller number? Tip: If the first number besides 0 is the same, check the next one! You should get that Brand Y is the cheapest! :) Hoped this helped!
