According to the first paragraph from the excerpts of the majority opinion, what did the U.S. government believe some Japanese Americans would do if they were allowed to remain free on the West Coast?

Answers

Good Morning!

The main fear of the United States of America with Japanese residents on the west coast was that these individuals would turn against the US as the country was in a strong war against Japan and Axis forces. This suspicion led many Japanese to be placed in concentration camps. They feared spies and attacks by these individuals, many of them who had already left their country for decades.

Hugs!

You didn't give us the excerpts, but here's an explanation:

During World War II, Japanese Americans were held in relocation camps  because of the fear that they would give information to the Japanese or attack the U.S.

Suspicious of anyone of Japanese heritage, the government restricted the civil liberties of Japanese Americans.  In February, 1942, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, which allowed the Secretary of War to designate certain areas as military zones.  FDR's executive order set the stage for the relocation of Japanese-ancestry persons to internment camps.  By June of 1942, over 100,000 Japanese Americans were sent to such internment camps.

How do you respond differently, as a reader, to a character based on a historical figure (“In Hiding”) versus a character based on myth (“Jasons Challenge”)? Jot down your ideas below.

Answers

Answer:

Explanation: Personally, I'm more inclined to feel for characters based on historical figures than mythological characters. i.e. I know both are made-up people/stories but for some reason, I cry reading about the despair of Sydney Carton and can read through the destruction of Troy with very little emotion. There is just something about mythological figures that makes you think you are simply supposed to learn from them, but there is something about someone put in a more historical context that I can sympathize with and cry over that makes me feel awful for them even when their circumstances aren't half as bad as aforementioned the mythological character watching their city burn and all their friends dying before their eyes (Aeneas).

Buddhism was India’s dominant religion in 100 BCE, and then it expanded to become the dominant religion in all of Asia. declined in India but remained strong in other areas of Asia. spread to Asia but did not take hold throughout the continent. became obsolete when Hinduism spread into Asia.

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Buddhism was India's dominant religion in 100 BCE, but it eventually declined in India while remaining strong in other areas of Asia.

After its emergence in India, Buddhism spread to various regions of Asia, including countries like China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asian nations. In these regions, Buddhism took hold and became a dominant religion, influencing the culture, art, and philosophy of those societies.

However, in its country of origin, India, Buddhism gradually declined over time. Factors such as the revival of Hinduism, competition with other religions, and political changes contributed to its decline. Eventually, Buddhism lost its dominant position in India, but it continued to flourish and gain followers in other parts of Asia.

Therefore, the correct statement is: Buddhism declined in India but remained strong in other areas of Asia.
