How do you solve 7 (5a-4)-1=14-8a

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: the answer is 1 why because

7(5a - 4) -1 = 14 - 8a
35a - 28 -1 = 14 - 8a
+8a                  +8a
43a - 28 -1 = 14
43a - 29 = 14
       + 29    +29
43a = 43
___     ___
43        43

a= 1

Chetan and his 5 siblings buy a present for their mother on Mother's Day. As the eldest brother, he pays 0.2 of the cost of the present. The rest of the siblings share the balance equally. Each sibling pays $9.50 less than Chetan. What is the cost of the present.

Answers

Let's say that X is what the other 5 siblings pay. X + $9.50 is what Chetan pays. X + $9.50 is 1/5 of the cost of the present. To solve this we have to do 0.8 divided by 5 (the remaining cost split between 5 people) which is 0.16. Now from this we can learn that $9.50 is 0.04 of the cost of the present. A simple way to solve this is do 1.00 divided by 0.04 and then multiply $9.50 by that amount. 1.00 divided by 0.04 is 25 so $9.50 times 25 is $237.5.
The present costs $237.5
As I read over this I may not be correct, however this is how I solved it as an advanced mathematics grade 8 student.

How to solve 3+5 (c+3)=-17

Answers

3 + 5(c + 3) = -17

First, subtract 3 from both sides. / Your problem should look like: 5(c + 3) = -17 - 3
Second, simplify -17 - 3 to get -20. / Your problem should look like: 5(c + 3) = -20
Third, divide both sides by 5. / Your problem should look like: c + 3 =  -(20)/(5)
Fourth, simplify (20)/(5) to 4. / Your problem should look like: c + 3 = -4
Fifth, subtract 3 from both sides. / Your problem should look like: c = -4 - 3
Sixth, simplify -4 - 3 to get -7. / Your problem should look like: c = -7

Answer: c = -7

3+5(c+3)=−17

3+(5)(c)+(5)(3)=−17(Distribute)

3+5c+15=−17

(5c)+(3+15)=−17(Combine Like Terms)

5c+18=−17

Subtract 18 from both sides.

5c+18−18=−17−18

5c=−35

Divide both sides by 5.

5c/5=−35/5

c=−7

In △ABC, m∠A=39 △ A B C , m ∠ A = 39 °, a=11 a = 11 , and b=13 b = 13 . Find c c to the nearest tenth.

Answers

Answer:

c=17.5\ units

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find the measure of angle B

Applying the law of sines

(a)/(sin(A))=(b)/(sin(B))

substitute the given values

(11)/(sin(39\°))=(13)/(sin(B))

sin(B)={sin(39\°)}(13)/(11)

B=arcsin[sin(39\°)(13)/(11)]

B=48.1\°

step 2

Find the measure of angle C

Remember that the sum of the interior angles of a triangle must be equal to 180 degrees

so

A+B+C=180\°

substitute the given values

39\°+48.1\°+C=180\°

87.1\°+C=180\°

C=180\°-87.1\°=92.9\°

step 3

Find the length side of c

Applying the law of sines

(a)/(sin(A))=(c)/(sin(C))

substitute the given values

(11)/(sin(39\°))=(c)/(sin(92.9\°))

c=(11)/(sin(39\°))sin(92.9\°)

c=17.5\ units
