give 2 examples that show how using parentheses can change the order in which operations are performed in an expression

Answer 1
Answer: Here is an example,

Kate had a test and one of the questions were 8 dived by 2 +( 6+7)+3. She answered by saying  it was 13.625 . When the teacher graded it she marked it wrong then handed it to Kate saw that it was wrong. She wondered why so she asked the teacher and said why she got it wrong and explained that the parenthesis are show that  you need to solve the number in it first before you do anything else. Then Kate tried to solve it again and got 20.

Hope this helps and sorry it took me long to reply

Answer:

Choice C) no solutions

=============================

Work Shown:

y+7 = 3x turns into y = 3x-7 after we subtract 7 from both sides

Plug that into the other equation and solve for x

------

6x - 2y = 12

6x - 2( y ) = 12

6x - 2( 3x-7 ) = 12 ... y replaced with 3x-7

6x - 2(3x) - 2(-7) = 12

6x - 6x + 14 = 12

0x + 14 = 12

0 + 14 = 12

14 = 12 ... this is a contradiction, aka false statement

------

No matter what x value we pick, the equation above will always be false.

Therefore, there are no solutions

We say that this system of equations is inconsistent.

Graphing both equations leads to two parallel lines. A solution only happens if the lines cross, but parallel lines never intersect.

Answer:

prety sure its 2,3,4,1

Step-by-step explanation:

Simplify: [5-3x+2y-(2x-y)]-(3x -7y+9)

Answers

(5-3x+2y-2x+y)-(3x-7y+9)= (5-5x+3y)-(3x-7y+9)= 5-5x+3y-3x+7y-9= -8x+10y-4= 2(-4x+5y-2)
[5-3x+2y-(2x-y)]-(3x-7y+9)\n\n=(5-3x+2y-2x+y)-3x+7y-9\n\n=(5-5x+3y)-3x+7y-9\n\n=5-5x+3y-3x+7y-9\n\n=-8x+10y-4
