Third time im asking... really need help..Assuming all of the atoms attached to the central atom were identical, which of the following geometries would produce a nonpolar molecule? (Only 3 choices are correct.)

-linear
-trigonal planar
-tetrahedral
-trigonal bipyramidal
-octahedral
-bent (angular)

Answer 1
Answer: I'm not an expert on this, but I have done some work. Non-symmetrical shapes are polar, so octahedral, tetrahedral and linear are non-polar since they are symmetrical

Most modern forms of transportation are powered by fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide, methane, carbon monoxide, and other gases are released into the atmosphere during the production and combustion of these fuels. How might these gases cause climatic changes? These gases have no effect on atmospheric temperatures, so they are unable to cause any type of climatic changes. These gases cause more water vapor to condense, making climates wetter than they were in the past. These gases reduce the amount of thermal energy escaping into space, effectively warming the atmosphere.

Under which conditions will gases best dissolve in liquids?

Answers

Gases best dissolve in liquid under low temperature. This is because when you increase the temperature it will cause an increase in kinetic energy. An increase in kinetic energy means there would be an increase in molecular motion of gas particles. This would cause for gas particles to escape to the gas phase thus making it difficult for it to be dissolved.

Question 8 of 15The half-life of radium-226 is 1,600 years. It decays into radon-222. What

Answers

To find the fraction of the original amount of radium-226 that will still be radium after 8,000 years, we can use the formula for radioactive decay:

Fraction remaining = (1/2)^(t/half-life)

Where:

t is the time in years.
half-life is the half-life of the substance.
In this case, the half-life of radium-226 is 1,600 years, and you want to find the fraction remaining after 8,000 years. Plugging these values into the formula:

Fraction remaining = (1/2)^(8000/1600)

Fraction remaining = (1/2)^5

Fraction remaining = 1/32

So, after 8,000 years, 1/32 of the original amount of radium-226 will still be radium. Therefore, the answer is C.

The most stable group of elements on the periodic table is the?A) halogens
B) noble gases
C) alkali earth metals
D) alkaline earth metals

Answers

The most stable because they can contain the most valence electrons in their outer shell. The correct option is B.

Thus, The group of elements on the periodic table known as noble gases, commonly referred to as inert gases, is thought to be the most stable.

They are radon (Rn), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), neon (Ne), helium (He), and argon (Ar). Noble gases are extremely stable and less likely to combine chemically with other elements because they contain entire valence electron shells.

Their full electron configurations, which result in low reactivity, are the cause of this stability.

Thus, The most stable because they can contain the most valence electrons in their outer shell. The correct option is B.

The point at which a substance is at complete equilibrium is called? User: a hydrogen bond is a special form of what type of bond

Answers

I don't know what the answer to your first question is. All of my teachers have only called it the equilibrium point.  However for your second question, a hydrogen bond is a special type of dipole-dipole attraction.  Only oxygen, nitrogen, and fluorine are able to make them when bonded with hydrogen.  Hydrogen bonding is what makes water have such a high boiling point considering how light the molecule is.
