How the metabolism of hetero trophy differs from that of autotrophs

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: In many functions of a living organism, it cannot make its own energy. It uses energy from its environment, retrieves and converts into a usable and edible matter. Organisms that can do this process is the autotrophs, they can facilitate photosynthesis which they gather energy from the sun, water and carbon dioxide in order to create energy by then, the transfer of this energy to other organism is played by the food chain –food web.

The options in the question contain both autotrophs and heterotrophs.
(a) A giant redwood tree = Autotroph
(b) A spider = Heterotroph
(c) A rose bush = Autotroph
(d) A mushroom = Heterotroph
(e) A blue whale = Heterotroph
Autrophs are the organisms that have the capacity to form their own food from inorganic substances like the carbon dioxide.
Heterotrophs are the organisms that cannot produce their own food but depends on other animals or plants for their nutritional needs.

Describe at least three of the possible functions of proteins, and explain how proteins can be so diverse when there are only a limited number of different amino acids.

Answers

an answer might be - Any of a group of complex organic macromolecules that contain carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and usually sulfur and are composed of one or more chains of amino acids. Proteins are fundamental components of all living cells and include many substances, such as enzymes, hormones, and antibodies, that are necessary for the proper functioning of an organism. They are essential in the diet of animals for the growth and repair of tissue and can be obtained from foods such as meat, fish, eggs, milk, and legumes.

Explain how mumps vaccine makes someone immune to mumps

Answers

Any vaccine makes someone immune by injecting a weaker version of the virus/disease into your body, when you inject someone with the disease your body automatically reacts and goes to sort out the invaders. You body creates specific anti-bodies which are chosen for the specific job and when they have finished their job of killing the invaders there will always be one cell with the correct information on it to react straight away, so when a invader invaders for real your body can instantly snap on and kill it before there are any affects to your body
