The point at which a substance is at complete equilibrium is called? User: a hydrogen bond is a special form of what type of bond

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: I don't know what the answer to your first question is. All of my teachers have only called it the equilibrium point.  However for your second question, a hydrogen bond is a special type of dipole-dipole attraction.  Only oxygen, nitrogen, and fluorine are able to make them when bonded with hydrogen.  Hydrogen bonding is what makes water have such a high boiling point considering how light the molecule is.

List three of Rutherford’s major achievements that helped earn him the title “Father of Nuclear Physics.”

Answers

The correct answer is:

discovered the necleusproposed the proton existencediscovered fusion reaction from fission

Explanation:

Rutherford (1871–1937) was subject for an extraordinary array of discoveries in the fields of radioactivity and nuclear physics. He identified alpha and beta rays, set forth the rules of radioactive decay, and recognized alpha particles as helium nuclei. In 1911, Rutherford realized that atoms not detached, they are managed by something else, a nucleus. He noticed that the preponderance of an atom's mass is contemplated at a very tiny point in the center where the nucleus was determined. The nucleus is a positive force enclosed by electrons which are negative free flying particles.

Water can dissolve other substances. Which factor best contributes to this property of water?A. Water is made up of ionic bonds.
B. Water has weak intermolecular forces.
C. Water is denser than most substances.
D. Water particles are not fixed in place.

Answers

Water is known to be theuniversal solvent because it can mostly dissolve most of the substances. Thereason behind its solvability is the bonding of intermolecular forces of attraction. The answer is letter B. Out of the many bondings between molecules, the bondthat governs water is H bonding or hydrogen bonding. Water is composed mostlyof two atoms of hydrogen one atom of oxygen. Both the hydrogen and oxygen arepolar elements and hydrogen is bounded with a high electronegativity oxygen atom.

"Contagion" Movie questions!I have a few questions about the movie.

1. What type of pathogenic agent was the disease and what was the name of it?
2. Dr. Ellis Cheever (played by Lawrence Fishburne) explains that the spread of the disease is dependent on factors such as "nutrition, underlying conditions, socioeconomic factors and access to clean drinking water." Explain the validity of this statement.
3. Explain the irony of the following statement made by Dr. Cheever
" Shaking hands was a way of showing someone you werent carrying a weapon in the old days"

Answers

1. The pathogenic disease in "Contagion" was called Nipah. It was a combination of a flue and a virus, which caused respiratory disease and inflammation of the brain.

2. Cheever's statement is valid because flus/viruses can spread/caught by not taking care of your body (aka poor nutrition), and people who are in a lower socioeconomic class may not have the resources to prevent or fight off these sicknesses with proper vaccinations and medicine.

3. Cheever's statement is ironic because in the movie, shaking hands became a way of spreading Nipah. He's referring to biological warfare.

Final answer:

The movie 'Contagion' features a virus called MEV-1 that spreads based on factors like nutrition, underlying conditions, socioeconomic factors, and clean drinking water. Dr. Cheever's statement about these factors' influence on disease spread is valid, and the irony lies in the fact that shaking hands, once a symbol of trust, can actually spread diseases.

Explanation:

1. The pathogenic agent in the movie 'Contagion' was a virus called MEV-1.

2. Dr. Ellis Cheever's statement about the spread of the disease is valid. Nutrition, underlying conditions, socioeconomic factors, and access to clean drinking water can all affect a person's immune system and ability to fight off infections.

3. The irony in Dr. Cheever's statement is that shaking hands, which was once seen as a sign of trust and nonviolence, can actually spread diseases like the one depicted in the movie.

Which of the following atoms releases more energy than oxygen when an electron is added to its valence energy level? Select one:
a. helium (He)
b. fluorine (F)
c. carbon (C)
d. nitrogen (N)

Answers

The answer is b. fluorine (F). This is because fluorine is a more electronegative (electron loving) atom compared to oxygen. It is found on the 7th group of the periodic table, so it has 7 valence electrons. It only needs one more electron to achieve the ideal number of valence electrons which is 8. Oxygen, on the other hand, is in group 6 so it needs 2 more electrons to complete its valency. Helium can't be the answer because it is already in group 8, meaning it is already stable and won't release energy.
