Answer 1
Answer: Hey! 1) Convection [Warm water is less dense, so it rises.] 2) Conduction [The metal skewer is heated by the fire, and it is directly touching your hand. The metal skewer transfers heat to your hand through conduction.] 3) Conduction [The rock is directly touching you, so it transfers heat to you through conduction.] 4) Convection [Convection causes weather systems because hot air sinks and cold air sinks] 5) Convection [The hot air rises because it is less dense while the cold air sinks because it is denser.] ~Hope this helped~

Why copper should not be disposed of in landfill sites?It's going to be a question in my exam but I don't get it.

Answers

Copper is a heavy metal that can harm many people. This process of heavy metals building in your body is called bioaccumulation and the process of this building in the food chain is called biomagnification. Its hard to rid of this heavy metal because it is very dense, therefore, cannot breakdown in our bodies. Heavy metals get consumed by producers and then reach to the top of the pyramid (us) so we have the highest risk of getting diseases and so on. Make sure you explain that heavy metals get passed from industrial purposes where companies do not dispose of waste properly.

Good luck!
What the guy above said, although he focuses more on the human side. In animals the bioaccumalation can cause toxicity and diseases within them too, and it can cause large loss of life. It also limits plant growth when in high doses, so new life can't grow in the area once the landfill is covered over

An 80 kg long jumper in flight accelerates at a rate of 10 m/s^2. What is the force of the long jumper

Answers

Answer:

F = 800 N

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass = 80 Kg

Acceleration = 10 m/s²

Force = ?

Solution:

Formula:

F = m × a

F = force

m = mass

a = acceleration

Now we will put the values in formula:

F = m × a

F = 80 kg × 10 m/s²

F = 800 kg.m/s²

kg.m/s² = N

F = 800 N

A nickel is about 2 millimeters thick, or 2/1,000 of a meter how many nanometers is this

Answers

This is a unit conversion problem. Nm (nanometer) is smaller than mm (millimeter).

1 mm = 1/10³m = 1 x 10⁻³ m

1 nm = 1/10⁹ m = 1 x10⁻⁹ m

1 m = 1 x 10nm

Hence, 2 mm = 2 x 10⁻³ m

Then we can convert 2 x 10⁻³ m to nm by multiplying with 10.

Then 2 mm = 2 x 10⁻³ m = 2 x 10⁻³ x 10⁹ nm = 2 x 10⁶ nm.

Hence, the thickness of nickel is 2 x 10 nm.
